April is National Autism Awareness Month, and despite an increasing number of children being diagnosed with this mysterious and often devastating disease, medical science is still unable to pinpoint its root causes. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the number of reported cases of autism increased by 57 percent in just four years (from 2002 to 2006). Today, one in every 110 children is diagnosed with the disorder.
I used to think that Organic was a luxury. Now that I know about the horrific ramifications of GMO’s, I consider Organic a necessity to our quality of life. These are the reasons why we need to reduce our exposure to pesticides.
1. They are neurotoxins. Pesticides are toxic to the brain.
2. Pesticides can block muscle and nerve function.
3. They can cause mitochondrial dysfunction.
For those trying to get pregnant think impaired ability for sperm to swim.
For those with children with developmental concerns – this is a piece of the puzzle.
4. They are hormone disruptors.
This means that they can interfere with hormones in the body and in some cases actually look like the structure of hormones, so they can bind to those sites in the body.
This creates concerns such as cancers, hormonal disruptions and fertility issues
5. Increased risk for MANY neurological disorders.
This includes Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, ADD, ADHD, Autism and more…
Stay away from them. Choose organic when you can and protect yourself, and your family.
We've been sold a bunch of lies when it comes to GMO foods actually benefiting anyone! Okay, so it benefits the big guy, like Monsanto....but what does that mean for us? It's not good and it's getting worse. I don't believe in GMO's at all - but if they have to be there, I at least want to be INFORMED! I want to be able to make informed decisions for myself and my family. It's no longer availabe on youtube (you have to pay to see it) but I highly recommend you see Genetic Roulette. It's life changing, eye opening and really disgusting. See it anyway.http://youtu.be/hAMlir8oprw
